Again, I should have 50 sheets of BEFII arriving today. I plan to sell these to members one by one since I will only need 1-2 myself. I believe they are 17x17" as well.

The Xenarc 700TSV existing internal films are 94mm x 155mm (+/- .5mm). I am still trying to determine if the 500nit 700TSV already has BEFII sheets in it... it sure seems like they do which would make doing the upgrade useless.

My apologies Sam if it seemed like I was stepping on your toes. I was just throwing the info out there for people, wasn't trying to steer them from buying from you. I know you don't want to get stuck with all of it. I just wanted to make sure people had the ability to get it if they wanted it bad enough.

I just got the replacement film (so an extra BEF II 90/50), and I got a 15" ARMR-200

Was I suppose to request the ARM-200?

No you're good. It sounds like it should be placed on the outside of the screen, in which case the ARMR-200(or the ARMP-200 if you'd prefer it permanent) would be needed. However if it can be used on top of the LCD, but underneath the touchscreen, then ARM-200 is acceptable. The only difference I can see is that ARMP and ARMR use adhesive for mounting.

Once I know what screen I'm buying (Depending on changeip's DIY guide/video), I will either have left over films, or all of it up for grabs.

sorry i guess im confused on how this was mounted. do you stick it to the actual screen or does it hover over it and just stick on the metal trim around the actual LCD?

From what I see and from my testing, the ARMR-200 works best on top of the touch panel. It doubles as a screen protector. Just as Kevin said, the ARMR-200 is removable and the ARMP-200 is permanent (Thats where the R and P comes from).

I believe that basicly, yes.

the transreflective screens simply have this stuff.

BUT, THE MORE EXPENSIVE BRANDS LIKE XENARC HAVE MORE BRIGHTNESS TO BEGIN WITH. 600 VS 350 AS THE LILLIPUT BRIGHTNESS.

do it's a combination of the two.

hmmm I am having a hard time figuring out how to rotate the film for installing. Which side should the notch be on forthe DBEFII 45 Degrees? It changes soo much as you rotate it.

I'm obviously no authority, but if I'm reading the application guide correctly, here's how it goes. Looking at the backlight, the notch goes in the upper right hand corner. If using BEFII as well, then the BEFII goes on top of the backlight first, then the DBEF on top of the BEFII.

when you say this, do you mean put it on the actual back light or mount it on the metal frame so its like hovering over it?

Ok, well I just took apart my Ex-Audio (Lilli Widescreen 7" with side buttons but came out about 6-9months earlier), and I think I got it all in there. I looked in the brochure and it explains the mounting quite well.

Backlight --> Diffuser --> Head-On (apply directly to the forehead... j/k ) BEF Film --> Reflectve BEF (We are using the BEFII stuff) --> DBEF Film --> LCD

Whew!

Also the notches to viewing angle is in the book as well. I figured it shows upper right hand corner for a wider-than-taller screen, so that is what I did. I just did a quick power plug in and I do see the text on the LCD so I didnt polarize it away!

It is 2am though so very little sunlight to test with. I still have to screw everything back together and hot glue my circuit board back down, but done overall.

I have to say... One of the more terrifying experiences in my life! Being in university $200 is a hell of a lot of money to me for a screen. And to fiddle with it to make it better even though it does work messes with my "if it aint broke, dont fix it" motto, so scared x2. Then I had never dissambled a functional LCD panel that I expected to put back together again, so that was scary. I didnt expect such small screws and everything. A hell of a lot of tape in there too holding clear plastic protective layers down too.

Also I noticed the model I had actually had "Backlight --> Reflective Diffuser --> Diffuser --> LCD" already... and it is a "lilliput". The Reflective Diffuser looked to have the same polarizing properties as the BEFII 90/50, however not nearly as strong. I held it up to a light and I would say the 3M stuff is at least 200% better at reflecting the light infront back and recycling the light behind to a glow. I left it all in there, so I now have 4 sheets in there.

As a good side, I left my windows rolled up today, and I came back to the car to discover my touchscreen area was all bubbled, and it wasnt something I could feel so I figured I baked it. I thought "perfect. Just in time for me to mess with the LCD... " but once I took it apart tonight, I realized I accidentally left the clear plastic protector on the component side of the touchscreen! So I pulled that off and all was good. (it was a replacement after I cracked my last one).

If anyone is interested in pictures, I have a few. More of dissamebly and almost none of re-assembly. After I got the metal frames off, I wanted to hurry up to avoid the time exposed to a dusty (and cat-hair filled) room.

Also 1 11x11 sheet is good for 2 screens horizontally, and 1 vertically. I had to use 2 pieces of the BEF II because after I removed the protective film, I sneezed. And then got dust and oily fingerprints all over it. I touched it with the back of my finger to try and wipe some dust off, and the polarization layer started to disintegrate and scratch. So dont handle the polarizer much at all! Grab it like you are "supposed" to hold a CD. Edges only, since the severe edges will be covered anyways as non-visible portion of the LCD.

That was a long post!
