Powering my Xenarc

hey,

got my Xenarc all installed in my dash. the Xenarc specs say that it takes 11V-24V ...so im guessing unregulated..

was wondering if i should power my xenarc up from the battery..since it only pulls 1amp i can tap into the power wire and ground to the ground wire...

or should i tap into one of the molex connectors power and ground wire...that would be regulated power..but more of a headache i suppose in terms of neat wiring...

anyway any suggestions will be appreciated

or i guess..what i am asking is..will it be okay if i tap into the unregulated power wire or would it be better to tap into molex...

P.S.: no i dont have a distro block...

Well for just a screen, take the + and solder it to the + wire for your radio harness if you must. I always suggest a seperate wire from the battery. Then the - wire from the screen goes to a good paint-free stable point.

So if the screen is wired to unregulated the power, does it only turn on with a VGA signal?

Run a separate wire to power the display. I tapped mine into the old radio harness, and it just didn't have the capability of providing what the display wanted. Guessing it was just to bad of a voltage drop on the line. Everytime I'd turn my windshield wipers on, or my headlights, the display would kick of. And I would have to shut it off and back on. After running a separate wire, all was cured. Unless your car has better wiring.

Did you have a signal going to it?
