Hmmm. Yeah, I noticed that too. All shipping in british pounds and such. Pretty pricey. Anyone out there with a US supplier please help us.

I have a Lilliput 7" already. I wonder if there's any way to upgrade my existing LCD? I'd hate to pay $600 for a new LCD that's basically just what I already have.

If you mean the VAT, which is a hefty 36 pounds, I didn't have to pay it (from Australia). I think its only for those in Britain? When I gave the delivery address it automatically deducted the VAT.

I wasn't aware of that specific cost. But as I recal the manufacturer site had the screen for like 999 pounds or something like that. Ridiculous price. I only want to pay around $250 American dollars. (Price of lilliput)

If you want something better than the Lilli, you're probably going to have to pay more. /tangent Why no direct sunlight pics yet?

Is this screen different (besides casing) than the CarTFT screen compared to a Lilliput transflective here: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/lcd-...artft-tmr.html? At first glance they appear to have the same specs (TMR, 600nit, auto-dimming, etc...).

I would also jump on this after seeing a direct sunlight shot.

But even in that lighting is still way better than my xenarc.

A couple of more questions.

How is the touchscreen? Is it accurate? Does it need the included stylus?

Also how hard was the 800x480 res to get? Plugin and Play? Powerstrip? Are there monitor drivers included (not just for the touchscreen).

if you look closely at both pictures, there is direct sunlight hitting the screen at the bottom. you can tell because you can see it on the bezel and it would obviously be overlapping onto the screen. but there is no difference in image quality or brightness in those regions, meaning this screen really would be perfectly sunlight readable. an another note, any suppliers in the U.S??

EDIT: I went to the linitx site and put in my US address and shipping was about 25 pounds to east cost, its not bad. total cost wa 236 pounds including shipping, which is roughly 490 dollars. thats still 200 less than the transflective lilliput
