And now here's a pic of the screen in good light, with the flash on. You can see it is still very readable even with the bright flash shining on it. Picture is abit out of focus though, sorry.

GREAT JOB!! twin turbo? damnnn I would not be able afford the gas on that!
thanks for the pics!
So u just popped in the new screen into the housing?
Does it stay in place? Cause it doesnt seem like its using the tracks for the housing.
seems like u didnt even need the housing.
The end product looks great.
I am still deciding between the transflective and the TMR.
Is it worth the money?
Again thanks for the pics

It's not using the tracks; the stock MP3car G35 housing has a little knob on each side that fits in the tracks. This obviously doesn't.
Friction is what keeps it in place, and when it is out, the bottom of the screen rests on a ledge right inside the mount, and the top of the screen is wedged in by the lid. It is actually very secure, more so than the actual G35 screen was. I have tried to get it come loose by hard braking and hard acceleration, and I can't, not at all.
I would recommend spending the extra on the transflective. One thing I have learned in the many mods I have done to my car, it's better to spend the money in the first place and do it right the first time, than to regret an earlier decision to save money and want to go back and spend omre.

Does anyone know if the buttons on the linITX can be removed? The screen is just a tad bit too tall for my application, but I think if I could reloacte the buttons like you can do on the lilliputs and xenarcs, I should be fine.

the buttons are connected via a ribbon cable to the main board. the board for the buttons is moveable, but the cutout for the buttons themselves are on the bezel of the screen. so you would have to find a way to cut the bezel and remold it. or you can just leave the button board taped to the back like i did because you dont really need to access it that often.

So, if I needed to, the buttons could be relocated? I guess it would just be tricky trying to cut the screen bezel up just right. If you were to remove the buttons, do you have a rough estimate on how tall the screen dimensions would be? I'm working with limited space in my 1.5 din slot, but I really think I could get it to fit if its not too big.

on second thought, it wont be possible i dont htink. the main vga controller board is basically the height of the entire casing, so you cant cut out the buttons and make the whole thing shorter and make it fit. i ended up transposing mine into a xenarc casing which wasnt as tall and fit way better in my opening. i just electric taped the button board to the backside of the casing since it would only need to be accessed in rare situations. by the way, be damn careful with the flat ribbon cable to the lcd as well as the flat ribbon to the buttons. dont bend or crease them if at all possible or they will break. i had to replace my lcd cable with a xenarc one from mp3car, cost me 25 bucks, and i had to manually cut and repair my button cable cuz it got pinched and the contacts were severed, which took me about an hour and a half. so be careful and very very gentle

Was anybody able to successfully purchase the LinITX 7" TMR VGA Touchscreen off of the LinITX.com website?
I'm really interested in a trans-reflective screen and this one gets the most praise.

I'm quite interested in this as well---but I live in the U.S.
--For kicks, I went through the procedure to order one, and it lets you set delivery address to US, and it switches delivery method to Fedex.
It clearly says that we are responsible for all fees/taxes... how do we know what that is? Will there simply be an additional charge to get the package, similar to a COD? (on top of what we already paid?)
Total cost is ~$485 WITH international shipping....

I just ordered the Transflective model. It is £301.37, or 596.80 USD with shipping.
Hopefully there aren't too many problems with U.S. Customs...

Oh, and apparently the only shipping method available from UK to my house is over-night. They shipped it today, and I'm getting it tomorrow morning... That's incredible... Cheaper than anywhere else, and I get overnight shipping? Wow... I just hope I don't have any problems with it!
