I am planinig to remove the liliupt from its housing but the power button that triggers for monitor to come from stand by mode is on the faceplate and it will be gone. I will have power to it as sooon as the pc turns on but how would I replace that power button?

You barely let any time pass. Chill out. We aren't all on your schedule.

As for how to turn it on, take the button panel which is connected by a ribbon and relocate the IR receiver. Then you can use the remote to turn it on and off. You can also do the auto-on hack for the lilliputs.

Why solder when you can use the remote and an on screen menu to make the lilli turn on when it senses VGA? Then get the IR stuck in your vent incase it goes wrong, and you're covered on all bases.

You could do a simple RC circuit I suppose, but that is way more hassle.

well it does listen to VGA however only hwen its on and not in standby so it does no good

I was pretty sure the "hack" part was to make it turn on when off.

Also, I have my lilli on 100% of the time. Never drained the battery. As long as it goes to "standby" as you say with the backlight off, it is drawing negligable power. A remote lock/unlock draws the same pretty much.

So I start the car, PC turs on, screen turns on, all happy. Turn off the car, PC goes off, screen flashes "No VGA Signal" and goes into purple power saver mode until it gets VGA again.
