Hey there. I'm a newbie that's looking to eventually set up a car pc in my holden commodore vx (australian car) but want to try and cut the costs back abit.
Last year i recieved a LCD Tedelex screen from Toys R Us - however the screen was suppose to be connected to an external DVD Player that was also Tedelex brand in order to power the screen up. I e-mailed Tedelex and asked if it was possible to power the LCD screen up without the DVD player, they said this was not possible. However, there MUST be a way you can power it up without the DVD player, right?
The only reason why i'd want to try is because it would be perfect for my screen in my car, as it has all the inputs as well, and would save me a bit of cash.
Here are some pics of the screen, as well as the insides.
Now I know a little bit about some of these connections because i took physics. On the back of the LCD screen it says it needs 12V and 10W. I took a 11V adapter DC with 1A - which i think would be 11W? and tried connecting it to some of the wires - nothing happens. I have connected it to two wires within the inside of the screen, which is shown here:
The screen seems to turn on, however if any video in put is in, nothing comes up?
More info on the screen can be found here - but not much info.
Can anyone help me out? This would be great!
