Want my "beep" back...
Hi guy's, I've searched the forums and almost everybody wants to get rid of the beep when the touchscreen is pressed.
Now, I don't. I like my beep. My beep gives me confirmation if the touchscreen is pressed or not and I find it very convenient.
Only problem is: My beep is gone! I've recently added an external USB Soundblaster Extigy to my setup and now my beep is gone. It's not gone entirely but it sits in my PC instead of my speakers now and since my PC sits in the trunk for me my beep is not there anymore .
So seriously, I'm using a lilliput screen and the touchkit software. It seems as if the software thinks there is no soundcard/speakers attached anymore to the PC and it simply play's the beep through the PC speaker. Do any of you know a way to get it back on my speakers through the external Extigy soundcard?
Help me find a way to get my beep back! I really want it back! Thnx!

Maybe I was a little too melodramatic in the first post an not clear enough? Could it be?
I know the beep can be turned on in the touchkit software. It is turned on for over a year now.
Everything worked fine for me as long as I used my on board via soundchip. The beep was played trough the car speakers.
But a couple of weeks ago I replaced the on board sound with an external USB soundblaster Extigy. After I did this the beep is played trough the PC speaker as if there is no soundcard and/or speakers present on the PC.
So now I'm looking for a way to get it back to play over the speakers using this external Soundblaster. I think it is a software/settings problem and even a simple one but I can't seem to find it.
@Enforcer: thanks m8, but that's not my beep. It's someone elses! I want my own beep back!

It's roadrunner's beep.
maybe there is a a setting in the software that says which soundcard to use, I know winamp has, and for some reason it is stuck on the old soundcard even though it isn't there.
If there is no setting, uninstall drivers and reinstall and it may do a soundcard detection again.

No, there is no setting to select another soundcard. The idea of removing and reinstalling the drivers isn't bad. Seems logical. Will give that a go (if I find the darn CD...)

My software only gives me the option for a system speaker beep. I'd imagine the same holds true for most. I have seen motherboards that will play system beep tones through the onboard sound card. That's probably what you have going on. The sound will no longer play because the motherboard isn't designed to play the system beeps out of anything but the onboard speaker and onboard soundcard.

That will be probably it then. Didn't know about that.
Ok, I've downloaded noisy mouse and installed it on the Car PC. I was a happy puppy for about 5 minutes. I had a nice "click" sound when I pressed my touchscreen. Even tried roadrunners "beep beep" to make enforcer happy but it gets annoying after some time...
Everything was dandy until I wanted to run iGuidance. The darn thing freezes when noisy mouse is running. Stand alone or in roadrunner, I've tried them both, but everytime iGuidance freezes. When I disable noisymouse, iGuidance works perfect. So I tried it on my desktop (running vista) and everyting works great. But I don't need a mouse that's noisy on my desktop, I need it on my Car PC.
So I downloaded your other option, mouseclick and tried it on my desktop. This is a complete mess. It begins to freak out on me from the moment I want to run it. Something with "0,0000 is not a valid floating point" and it sits there beeping in the lower right corner until Vista shuts it down automaticly.
So to make a long story short: Stil no beep!

Clickmouse and also Mouseclick (yes they both excist) seem to be automouseclickers. So they click the mouse for you. Someting to avoid RSI. Not really what I need ...
Been googling for a while now and find nothing else except for noisy mouse and "sounding keyboard and mouse" but this is shareware and I'm not willing to pay 30$ for a program to get my beep back. It's also not very practical in use.
Noisy mouse was perfect but those stupid iGuidance problems.. Aaarrggghh!!
Why would it work on my desktop and not in the car?

That'll probably be because you are using European settings where you have a comma for decimals rather than a fullstop.
