VM70 Touchscreen?
Hi guys,
This is only my second post, but I have a question. Has anyone seen or used the VM 70 Touchscreen? If so, How was the performance in comparison to the other vga car monitors available?
Also I found the VM70 here http://www.short-circuit.com/product/VM70.html
If anyone has purchased from this company please post your feelings on their customer service.
thanks,
Kevin

I just ordered one and it's coming in tomorrow, i'm going to use it as a secondary display on my computer to keep all my toolbars from Photoshop, keeping documentation open and such while leaving the main monitor free of clutter. If the display works i'll post a big "Hurray!!" here.
So far i'm satisfied with how they are handling the shipping... then again i'm right here in Nor Cal so i shouldn't be surprised of the speed of delivery (ordered yesterday).
If the specs are accurate and all the gear advertised comes with the package, installing this baby is going to be a walk in the park, including setting up the double display mode.

ok here is the deal... i haven't rated my purchase yet on ebay because although the display works great, i haven't figured out the touchscreen function yet. I have downloaded drivers from www.fancyview.com which seems to be supplying a USB universal driver, but nothing happens when i touch the screen with my finger tips or with the pen provided.
Everything else is great, 1280x1024 75Mhz top resolution, clear and sharp view, nothing to complain about, except for the touch screen part which is a bummer since i don't really want to bother travelling with the cursor across two screens to reach all my photoshop panels... will share more as the case unfolds.

ok, walk in the park my ***...
Don't get me wrong, the display works fine, resolutions up to 1280x1024 75Mhz and clear view. The touchscreen feature is a *****, especially on Vista. Trying to install this thing on USB is just weird, i'm hunting down for drivers and so far i have been able to get the touch screen to respond, but the tracking so far has been a nightmare.
Also i tried to remove the drivers to reinstall them and the install shield gets stuck in a loop and i have to log off to break it.
So much damn work i'm starting to believe it wasn't worth it. I'd understand if it was old stuff but this thing is brand new with manuals and everything and i can't find a shred of an answer to what is happening... conclusion: i'm rather disappointed.

You realize that portable dvd players are usually only composite outputs? Composite signals don't look too good on VGA.

The experience went well... it works great!
The screen is sharp and the touchscreen functions well as long as you calibrate it.

Looking for more reviews. How does the brightness/daylight-readability compare to the normal Lilliput/Xenarc/LinITX screens? Does the touch-screen ever drift (my old Dynetix 8.2" would often click an inch above my finger and then drag down to my finger)?
The only reason I am considering the VM70 is that it is the smallest width (7.05" rather than 7.45" on the Xenarc 700TSV which is the 2nd smallest). I need to install the screen in a trapezoid that is 5" tall, 7" across the bottom, and 8" across the top.

I have not used a Lilliput/Xenarc or LinITX so i cannot vouch for that.
I have mine installed into the cubby of my 2004 accord lx so theres no glares at the moment unless sunlight is directly hitting it.
The touchscreen does not drift as long as it is calibrated correctly.(calibration software is included)
