Couple ?s on the Xenarc 700YV & 700TSV

Hi all. I'm debating between these two screens. I won't be needing touchscreen functionality for what I've got planned for now, but I'm wondering if it would be better to get the 700TSV just so I'll have touchscreen if I ever need it down the road.

In looking at these two screens I've got a couple questions I'm hoping you forum members can help me with.

First of all, in mp3car's store the 700YV (non-touchscreen) is actually more expensive than the 700TSV (touchscreen). Why is this?
Does having a touchscreen diminish video quality at all?
Are there any other pros and/or cons between the two that maybe I've missed?

I'm surprised I'm not getting any feed back (not even a moderator?).

So I've been continuing my research and I've learned some stuff. Thought I'd continue my little post here in case anyone else is looking for answers.

For video quality on touchscreen vs. non-touchscreen, I got an answer direct from Xenarc. By the way, they were very quick to answer my email - which is always reassuring. Here's what Jason at Xenarc had to say:

The only con to the 700TSV is that the touch panel will decrease the
brightness of the screen as well as the contrast ratio. You will get some
glare from the touch panel, and usually, I don't recommend buying the touch
screen version unless you know that you absolutely need it due to those
reasons. It's convenient for some people to have that feature but if you
don't think you will need it, stick with the non touch. Thanks.

I also brought up the question of why mp3car has the non-touchscreen (700YV - $369) listed for more $ than the touchscreen version (700TSV - $365). Here was Jason's reply:

You should call them, the 700YV should be about $329 or less. MP3Car is a
good place to buy it. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks.

I've sent an email to mp3car sales support re: the potential pricing error but haven't heard back yet.

I'll just tell you from experience I've had both a none touch screen, and a touch screen. Bottom line, no way I'd use anything but a TS. Don't know what you are planing on using as a pointing device, but TS all the way for me.

Also my Xenarc TS has better screen quality then the old cheap non-TS I use to have.

Going out on a limb since I have nothing to do with the store but I'd imagine they sell 100x as many TS as non-TS so the markup on the non-TS might be higher to justify having them in stock. Who cares...if you don't like their price shop somewhere else if you don't want the TS (I'd figure out what your system is going to look like before you buy any hardware...it'll save a lot of money and headaches).

Yeah, I figured it must be something like that. But when Xenarc themselves was surprised at the price difference, I figured I'd double check with mp3car first.

Don't know exactly what you mean by "who cares". Mp3car has an online store that makes them $. I would assume THEY would care if their product was overpriced. I like their site and appreciate their service, which is why I'm holding out to hear from them before I "go somewhere else".

I totally agree. In my case, I'm installing an xbox in my car that won't have touchscreen capabilities. But I'd would have been willing to pay more for touchscreen (just in case some time in the future I decided to swap the xbox for a carpc), but as I said, I was concerned that the video quality might be diminished by the TS. And from what Xenarc said, it is. So looks like I'll be going non-TS.
