Boke my screen >=|

After hours and hours of bondoing and sanding I finally finished and went to put my screen back together and boom the little plastic clamp thing that holds the flat wires in place broke off. Now I have no way to keep the wires in place. I've tried to put it back on but it's broken and I've tried to tape it in place but doesn't seem to work. Anyone have any ideas? I know I'm not real descriptive I will take a pic of it tomorrow. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about though

Thanks

It is the infamous white ZIF socket. The big ribbon correct? You will need to check mouser or PM Armen for a replacement socket. Then there will be quite a bit of soldering. If you cant solder, then you have a paperweight.

Yes it is, I just went to push it down and boom broken. I was like wtf. I've soldered before but I can't say I'm good at it.

If you've soldered before, but never on something as small as this connector, grab an old cdrom drive and practice on that first. They have similar connectors on the boards inside (actually...if you're lucky it may have one the same size).

If you're eyes aren't very good (I don't trust mine like I used to) then get one of those big magnifying lenses with the ring light around it, and use that to look at what you're doing. It's amazing how much easier it makes the job when it's magnified so much
