Lilliput touch-sensitivity flaking out

I've had a lilliput for a few months now and recently the touch-screen aspect as been flaking out.

Specifically, about every other time I start my car, the touch screen won't work.. The display still works but touching it has no effect. Often, this will go away the next time I start my car. Also, one time when the screen didn't work, I unplugged the power to the screen and plugged it back it and the touch screen worked! Although, I haven't tried it again to see if it is a consistent effect.

Other things I've tried that didn't work:
1. unplugging/replugging the USB connector to the computer
2. pressing the power button on the lilliput
3. trying different menu functions on the lilliput

Does anyone have any suggestions? It's weird that I wasn't having this problem before and that it's only intermittent.

Occasionally my computer (used to) boot up thinking the serial GPS was the mouse.

It was beyond flakey...My fix is I have a switch to remove power from the GPS. and then I reboot.

It happened about once every month or so.

Strangely, if I turn off the display either just before or just after I shut off the car, the touch-sensitivity will work when I restart my car. The only weird part is that I have to manually turn the screen on again even though I've programmed it to auto power-on.
