I've been messing with various in-dash setups for my MKIV Jetta and haven't come up with anything of quality that I'm satisfied with. Ad to that, I actually like the stock head unit, and I listed to a lot of radio.
So, I've decided that, for now at least, I want an external LCD for the carputer. I've used Garmin's bean bag friction mount when I borrowed a friend's Nuvi. The mount looked like this:
It worked really well! The bottom has non-skid stuff no it didn't slip around or tip over, and adapts to curving dashboard contours. It's also removable easily in the event of parking somewhere sketchy... and best of all - I don't have to mod anything. Obviously it doesn't look "stock" or OEM, but my options are limited.
Is there anything like this for a standard LCD such as the Xenarc? I figure solutions will be either an entire LCD+mount solution, or a standard mount that has the camera-like-threadded-stud-mount that the Xenarc seems to accept.
Thoughts?
