5.7" touchscreem + controller Group buy

I was doing some preliminary digging and thought it would be a good idea so see if anyone else out there woudl be intrested in a group buy for a 5.7" 3M touchscreen for those DSCustoms screens or gamevue screens + a controller. THis is in a very preliminary stage, price would be no greater than 200 prolly more like <175USD. POst if you are intrested.

Ok, now that i have some time, heres some more detailed info. I am in contact with Spectrum Sales, who is the regional manager for all of 3M's touch systems stuff. They are going to set me up with some basic pricing info and hand me off to a distributer. The distributers that carry the products here in the US are:
Reptron
Arrow Electronics
Jaco Electronics
Future Electronics
Avnet Electronics
All AMerican Electronics

I have contacted Christy at Jace for some preliminary pricing info and quantity discounts. She said that for the overlay, 8' cable, and serial cable it would run about $130.00USD and $145.00USD for the same package except a USB controller. She also said that group discounts are not available until i put in an order for 100+ units. Because of this, I am going to check out some other distributers and see if i cant get a discount on a smaler purchase. Although I think that 130 for everything is a good eal, I hope we can get some sort of discount. I will keep everybody updated. I will also have links to specific product info soon. I'm not sure if aynone but Kain is intrested here, but I have done some more checking and have found some better prices. Conversly,I have found that there is not much chance of good group rate as 3M prices all products monolithicly (dosent matter if we buy 2 or 2,000,00.. price is the same) I think I can get my hands on all the necessary hardware for about 115! Not too shabby.

If you can get a touchscreen + plus controller with a usb plug for 140 let me know who to call and I will purchase it tomorrow. I have been talking to the company in the uk about to order a 5.6 one but would much rather buy it from here and it will end up being cheaper.

It shoudl, I have seen other use the 5.7 on 5.6" screens. There is a guy in the for sale forum with one.

Are you able to get any other sizes, and if so, at what cost? I might very well want a 6.4" one... if there is such a thing.

hey i might be really interested.. i might be buying a few cuz i want to see those thiongs in a shop i might be opening.. i need to know all the spec first though.. vga or composite, resolution, al the usuall stuff.. thanx

Yes they have other sizes, but I dont know of pricing yet.

I should have more info on other size screens. ALthough I am not sure if they will count toward a group buy. I will keep you posted.

I dont see why not. ALthough after some more searching i still havnt found anyone with a decent group discount. I might just tell you who to call and the part numbers.... If you want I can put in for a big order and ship to you individually (i think that might be even more expensive.
