1.5 Din Options

Got another truck, (1996 Chevy Tahoe). Seems like my only options are a motorized screen, or fabricating one into the dash.

I really don't like the motorized idea, they look kind of cheap and thats not the look I'd like to go for. And it seems like there aren't any touch-screens that fill out a 1.5 Din space. So what are my options for this space? It's has to be in this space, and I don't want to modify the dash yet.

Thanks
-Jim

you should be able to mold it into just the bezel without modding the actual dash ya know what i mean? those trucks are everywhere in junkyards so just pick up a spare to teach yourself to mold....have fun

Yeah, I had a 1.5 DIN opening in my cherokee and managed to get a 10.2" Xenarc in there. With mine, there is a fascia that comes off that is on the dash, and you can pic them up on e-bay for around 10 bucks if you really mess them up. So, I took this out, cut it up and molded in the screen, all the while, leaving the actual dash (the expensive part to mess up) mostly intact. You can check out my worklog for some ideas if you want.
