The way that the radio works is that it is its own video input. Therefore, you either choose DVD, computer (VGA/DVI), radio, or component 1/2 and that is what you see on the screen. All the preset features and search/tuning features are touchscreen based thus you cannot have the PC and radio on the screen at the same time. Also you can easily switch back to the PC mode and the computer will still be on (unless you turned it off).

I got mine on Friday night and seem to be having a problem with the DVD drive. It won't suck in the CD/DVD until it is basically all the way in 3/4 or more. From the drives I have worked with in the past usually they take the DVD/CD after you have inserted it less then 1/4 of the way. Can any other owners of this unit comment on this?

Anyone else bought this that can post up some pictures? Also anyone know what exactly the right knob controls? It looks like radio maybe, but I can't tell.

Ok, a few more days with the unit- a few more comments on it and answers (hopefully) to some of the questions. These are just random thoughts, so this may not be a very flowing post but its only meant to provide info.

The unit doesn't power on by itself in my Truck (Hummer H2). It does shut down with ignition but when I start the car, the standby light (?) comes on on the deck but it doesn't power on- I have to do that manually. Maybe its a setting somewhere that I haven't found.

I figured out how to set the presets on the radio, weird combination of pushes of frequency and preset buttons.... Speaking of the radio- it is quite generic looking. You would think they would spruce the gui up a bit.

I have had to disconnect the battery once since getting it. playing with menu- it locked up and wouldn't shut off- no matter what. I have not been able to recreate this.

The screen looks good, even in daylight. The touch screen works absolutely great- even in the cold (cold as it has been anyway). I currently live in upstate NY so we will see in a month. Right now, its great
Someone posted a note about the dvd drive and the way it loads discs, I can confirm that the disc has to be pushed in further than we are typically used to with slot loading drives.

It took some tweaking to get the unit to sound good. a combination of RR and Unit settings. The volume delay for the unit is annoying in my opinion.

The button on the right is actually a joystick controller. It is pretty sensitive and will take some getting used to but is responsive.

The fan on the unit cycles on and off, so it doesn't stay on all the time but it isn't silent by any means. It sounds like your defrosters little brother on #3 fan setting.... It's not annoying, and isn't really noticeable when music is playing though.

Overall, I am happy so far with the unit. Im taking a road trip this weekend, so I'll put it to the test

New Touch Screen/Radio

I have been looking at this product and it is very interesting. Does anyone know if they will make a 2 din fixed monitor unit? I don't care for the retractable monitor and my truck (01 Superduty) bounces quite a bit and the retractable monitors I have seen don't seem very sturdy.

for those of you who own one. what are your sound settings like? how detailed can you set up your audio in the head unit? is it just bass and treble or do you have a multi band eq. is there a cross over?

The fact that it doesn't automatically turn on when you start the car is a turn off. Can anyone else confirm it doesn't do it?

Excellent!

I'm so tempted to get this as I only have a din and a half in my jeep wj, and molding a monitor to the dash is/would be painful. I want to wait until someone posts up some good pics and a thorough review. I did happen to find these pics while searching google:

NC normally stands for No Connect. I would say it is a safe bet if the manual doesnt mention the wires.

Unusably short, really... Unless, I suppose your computer was in an adjacent DIN.

About 7" or so, I'd estimate. 18cm for the non-US types.

I decided to install my unit over the holiday break and I realize I don't have the drivers for the touchscreen? Anyone have a link to them? The Xenarc site doesn't seem to have them up that I could find.
