Well my experience so far with the xenarc is good im a lil ****ed that the radio frequency build in only goes from 88.0 and up i need 87.7 to work because here in nyc thats a great station pulse 87.7

Few things about the screen the auto on works perfect the screen comes on and flips out without me doing anything and it automatically starts up to whatever i had it last (i.e PC, Radio, or whatever and im very happy with that function) and it shuts off automatically and goes back in as soon as i shut the car off and pull the key out....

Also as far as what the guy said about immediate music how are you going to get imidate music out of a PC? no matter how fast a pc is it takes time to boot thats not the screens foult this screen takes 10-15 seconds to come up automatically the pc takes like 30 to boot and by the time its fully loaded on the desktop and running your front end its probably 45 to a minute that has nothing to do with the flip out touch screen thats the technology its limited the computer and windows is to blame...

Im very pleased with this unit seems very durable for the most part, the fact that the volume control is a bit sluggish meaning it takes time to kick in is anoying but the fact that it works whether its on radio dvd or on pc is great... you dont need any extra volume control dongle you just use that one for everything... Has plenty of room for camera's for whatever you feel like hooking it up to...

It's certenly bright enough and there is no glare it...

One time i had a problem where the screen went white and it wouldnt go down this was after i shut the car off i had it on radio and i read that it had happend to others here taking off the fuse in the car that powers the radio will cut power to it and reset it and it fired right up again with no problems like i said i only had that problem one time and it got resolved very easily... because its relteviley new piece of equipment im sure its just firmware bugs...

Hardware wise is the motorized mechanism on par with the Pioneer/Alpine/Sony units or is it still noisy like the the GL701?

I am primarily interested in using this as a screen only and the DVD player as i run all my audio into an Alpine head unit.

it is a bit noisy im not sure compared to those products because i never used those products but i mean its not horrendous the noise isnt too bad...

the thing is pretty stable overall u cant move the screen once its out unless u use the menu its very sturdy...

The gears are metal so they do make a bit of noise but it dosent bother me at all... its just enough noise to let u know its coming out...
