Xenarc 700IDT not turning on, did I short it out?

Hi there. I recently installed my Xenarc 700IDT. It worked perfectly fine on the bench with a regular computer power supply, but it does not want to turn on when hooked up to the car. I have it drawing power from my M2-ATX, with the remote turn-on wire spliced into a 12V feed on my headunit. A test of the voltage at the monitor harness input shows voltages of between 11-12V for both the turn-on and power lines.

One thing I accidentally did was I touched the negative of the harness to an active +12V line from the car and I noticed some sparking. Did I short something? I checked the fuse on the positive line, but it seems to be fine.

Does the turn-on signal absolutely need 12V, or would something a little less (>11V) still work?

I would really appreciate some input.

I have it conected directly to the 12v of my car and still today works flawless.

Alright well I figured out my problem. Apparently there was an issue with some of my power lines and even though they read 12V, they weren't sending any current. I spliced into my ciggy lighter instead (don't like using the bulky adapter), and it works fine, except the rear connector is finnicky as hell and I can't push the monitor all the way into the dash without the connector coming loose and generating all sorts of signal issues.
