I tried to powered it from a molex connector, and smoke came up.
This sux so bad....
The screen powers up still, but no video nothing, and screen just turns off.
Anyone know how to fix these? or what needs to be replaced?

so i found one fried chip, but i have no idea how to find a replacement
the number on the top is 4953 (triangle) 43716. your help is greatly appricated.

sounds like you had ground and 12v mixed up... might be more damage than just a voltage regulator.

everything seems to work except for the vga signal, i can turn on the screen, and see the text when i press the buttons.
