Lilliput EBY701 Problems: Vertical colored lines

Hi,

Here is my problem:

I hook up all the cable for the screen to pc and then I realize that I hadn't the correct diagram. I plug the stripe with the ground and the black with the 12v(yellow cable on molex modual) BUT the pc wasn't on. After that, I plug the correct cable and then power on the pc.

Now even if the screen if not "open" but the power led is red, there are multiples colored vertical lines in the screen that change color over time with some number and chiness text at top corner left

After that, I power on the screen and then it detect no input from pc at Video1 and 2....NOTHING!!! What can cause this? Bad ground? Because after that, I plug the monitor with his stock power supply and it did the same thing....I'm kinda out of option here....

I wish I could help you but I had the exact same problems with my EBY701. I too thought it might be something with the power feed because when my monitor is connected to my PC it would sometimes cause the PC to hang and not shut off properly and then my Opus PSU would indicate a faulty PSU with the blinking light sequence. I decided to just have the EBY701 replaced and I actually just got it in the mail on Monday. I will install it on Friday and get back with you on my results. I think it could either be a faulty screen OR a bad connection the monitor caused by a short in a wire somewhere... Will update tomorrow

You have it hooked up backwards. The striped wire is positive and solid black wire is negative. Test the wires and it should verify this.

Now how do I know? I had a 701 as well and did the exactly same thing. It'll put a huge strain on anything you hook it to or blow fuses. On the 5th time of trying it, poof! Smoke from the middle of the control board and no more lilliput. So sucked it up and ordered a new new 629 this time because I thought it was a bad monitor. This time I tested the wires because I was extremely paranoid and that was my cause. Sucks, but **** happens. Hopefully this will save one of you.

When you sent yours back, was it taken apart and seal broken? Just curious if I could actually send mine back or suck it up to experience?

Still, are you sure that they white striped wire is actually a ground? When I tested mine, it was the opposite.
