Lilliput+Via Epia @ 800x600 = Newby aspect ratio question

Hi All,

Still slowly working on gathering my carPC pieces, so I don't have it all together yet. I was going to wait until I was done and see for myself, but curiousity is getting the better part of me, so.....

Since the Lilliput's are 16:9 (or 15:9 not sure) aspect ratio monitors, and the Epia's do not have any widescreen resolutions available, my question is, basically how does the aspect ratio work out?

Does the front end take care of making sure videos and such aren't stretched?

I am probably not explaining myself very well; let me try it like this. If you have an old PC with only 4:3 resolutions available, and you hook it up to a widescreen monitor, no matter what res you select, the icons, text, etc will all be stretched horizontally, which means the movies make people look "short and fat". Sometimes the stretching isn't obvious, but its there. Does the front end fix this?

Thanks,

-Alan

I know the VIA EPIA CN13000G is capable of widescreen resolutions. I'm not sure about the other front ends but I know Streetdeck will correct the aspect ratio of the videos you watch depending on what resolution you are using wether it be 16:9 or 4:3.

Anyone have some good info on this? I am using the Lilliput and its 15:9 (think its 800X480)
Using DFX2.5
What do I set the resolution on the PC to AND in RRConfig.exe?
