ok, I got a little lost with all the accronyms RGB, RGsB etc... I have an 06 lexus gs300 which I would love to install a carpc into. One of the problems is it does not have navigation. But it does have an LCD touchscreen with some car info, etc. How do I know if I can use that screen or if I need to purchase the OEM NAV LCD touchscreen and what connectors do I need to look for? Thanks

Couldn't you take a completely different route by attempting convert the stock plug that goes into the stock LCD into something more compliant? Than replace the stock LCD with with touchscreen LCD with multiple inputs.

A 7" LCD with RGBs input does not exists, so it's not a matter of converting the plug only. I would need a VGA to RGBs converter, and those are not reliable, at least I couldn't find one that would work.

I just read the 4 pages with hopes of sweet success .. and I was left disappointed.

I have a 2007 G35 and want to put a carputer in. I have it all built and its working great. I didnt have Nav so I put in an after touchscreen kit. I designed a front end that simulates my home theater setup. I even got GPS on board.

The one thing I HATE is the video quality. I am just using the TV out from the vid card to the Aux in. I was really hoping after 4 pages that you found the solution. Anyone else try something that looks better than TV through aux in?

Well, all I can say is that: 1. It was deeply frustrating for me, I've lost lots of time and some money; 2. If I had any success, I'd have edited the first post, so I'm not sure why you're so disappointed. At least you do not have to follow the exact steps I did, right?

With that said, you may want to check out how this discussion pans out:

So I'm too waiting on Kalt's progress.

Cheers,

RH.

This http://www.tkk.fi/Misc/Electronics/circuits/sync_r.html works like a charm on my BMW - problem is that u need VGA card supporting interlaced output. If needed i can add pictures later.
