Motorized version of 700IDT any time soon?

Has there been any info from Xenarc regarding a motorized version of the 700IDT or similar indash monitor? Any time soon?

The MDT-X7000 is intriguing but I think I'd prefer a separate head unit and monitor, and the cool factor of motorized is preferred over the spring mechanism of the 700IDT.

Thanks, Z

Motorola MW800, Xenarc 700IDT, M1-ATX, RR & DFX 3.0. Need to do a bit of custom bezel work and reroute some cables.

I called Xenarc about a month or so ago asking if they were going to remove the amp/radio and volume buttons from the MDT-X7000 and sell it to people that have already invested in proper amps/hu's.

The answer was "not at this time" Interesting that hey are having quality/feature issues with all the add-ons they put into the x7000.

Guess Ill keep my lilliput until the summer and see what comes up then.

Cool factor or not, you will have much less issues with a spring loaded screen. I have manged to keep my motorized unit going for almost 3 yrs now, but it is NOT trouble free and needs a lot of TLC.

Sometimes the motorized unit works, other times I just yank on it to get the damn thing out of the din. That part does not look cool

I am hoping Xenarc will have a better mechanism on the market soon, if not will go spring loaded to avoid the hassle.

Thanks for the info, zip.

I was afraid of this info. I know the spring loaded is probably better but I figured they would have the kinks worked out of the motorized screens by now, since they are used in many head units as well.

I'll probably wind up getting the 700IDT.

Thanks,
Z

Yup, think Im going with this monitor also (700IDT)
Basically need a single din, manual or motorized, with the best screen. Dont need an amp or AM/FM tuner or CD/DVD.
Was looking at the MDT 7000, problem is if you select fm input, it kills any input from pc, and its $750, and the menues (source etc) are pretty ugly, just text flyouts) so thats out. SO Im staying with the OEM head unit, I'll just run XM to the PC and route any sound from PC into aux on head unit.

Was looking at the Lilli (but seems that everyone complains about them) and the Itx (but the fold out comes with amp, fm, etc), so now seems that Xenarc is probably the best thats left.

Anyone happen to kknow of an exceptional fold out vga display ?

Have some of the other stuff sorted out (EE25 series hard drive, BU-353 GPS antenna, USBBT 100 BT antenna, WiFi Mini Wi-Fi antenna, iGuidance Nav, Win XP, RoadRunner (probably))

Just have to pick out processor, case, power supply.

I'd think the bigger problem with motorized screens is the fact that the moving parts are prone to breaking or wear, rendering the ultra-cool motorized functionality completely useless.

Anyone know if you can adjust the verticle (not side to side) tilt after its out ?
(just pulling down a little to counteract glare, the car is a coupe with a targa).
