Question Anyone used a PCMCIA Scanconverter?

Until I get a decent PSU, and build a dedicated inbuilt machine, I'm looking at using my Laptop to test all the components I want to add on. One of the things is a PSONE screen (any good 5.6" brand recomendations for the UK, different brands to the US).

Unfortunatly my laptop only has VGA out and the inbuilt TFT, no TV Out.

I'm considering a PCMCIA Scan converter, rather than an external box Scan converter for space considerations.

Is the quality any better for the extra money than an external one? Will probably end up an inverter until I do the built in route, and then go DCDC.

My Laptop (Vaio PCG-F250) is too large for my small car (Skoda Favorit) to have it upfront, so it would have to be mounted in the boot/trunk. Probably stapped down to a board, with the other components screwed down to the board permanently.
