Xenarc calibration utility won't finish 4 points calibration after driver upgrade

Ok so I've had my 700TSV for over a year now and have previously had no problems with it in the car. When I first installed my carpc I remember that I had to update the Xenarc drivers from the ones that came on the CD because the ones that came on the CD would keep causing the PC to resume from hibernation. Downloading the latest drivers off the xenarc website fixed that problem (this was back in spring of 07).

Long story short, I had to reformat and reinstall my carpc and had the same standby issue with the original drivers so I went to xenarc.com and downloaded the most recent drivers they have up there which was v4.3.8.4207. i installed the setup.exe and let the drivers install and while the touchscreen installs properly the calibration is way off.

So, I go to the configuration and do the 4 point calibration utility and cannot get past the fourth point. Points 1 - 3 work fine but after pressing on the fourth "x" it turns blue and the screen freezes. This happens every time. I've reinstalled the driver like 3 times already.

I see that the egalax website has a newer driver then that one posted and I won't be home until tomorrow to try it out but wanted to see if anyone had this issue before and maybe it's not the driver?

ok, i tried the updated drivers and i'm having the same problem. When doing the four points calibration, after the fourth point I get an error "S3Display" is the error title and it says "A copy of this utility is already running..."

Any ideas on how to fix this? My touchscreen is now severely out of whack.

it seems that there are two processes running and that was causing the conflict. I don't know why, mind you, but when the calibration utility starts if you ctrl+alt+del and click processes you see xTouchMon running. At least on my system it was. Stopping that process and then doing the calibration worked for me.

I don't see that process running. Everytime I start my computer though it says something about xtouchmon.exe error and closes it... Wtf is going on.

If you cant get a handle on it, i suggest rolling back your drivers if you have that option. check control panel > system > hardware > device manager (should be listed under human interface device) click on it and check to see if it will allow you to roll back drivers. if you werent having a problem with the old ones, might be worth it.

The thing is I'm installing this on a fresh HDD so I can't roll it back to anything...
