how to tell if LCD is TFT screen...?

hi guys

i bought an lcd for 50 bucks... and the quality is ****-poor. I gotta use 640X480 and i can't read **** on the desktop. I'm sure this isn't a TFT but how can i tell anyways? I don't see it written anywhere on the device. Also, what does TFT mean and what does it do? I need help understanding the concept... thanks.

If you bought it for $50 it is definitely not TFT. Here is the definition.

Is it RCA or VGA input?
