Problem with screen

Before installing my computer the monitor and front panel buttons were working.

After installing my computer in the car it looks like it shot my monitor. The VM70 does not respond, none of the front panel buttons function.

Does anyone know whats wrong with it just by looking at it? What could be fried?

This situation really sucks.. I haven't even had the chance to set up the touch screen yet. Like many others on the forum, i have also hacked up the screen and now my warranty is voided. =(

Probably a misaligned ribbon cable. Same with the front panel buttons.

And we cant tell what you did to it if you dont tell us what you did. Did you take it apart down to the LCD, or just mount it in the case or what? Did you power the computer properly from the battery, or are you using the same wire from the radio harness?

heres a link of how my screen was constructed.
http://www.putfile.com/audiology/images/169026

basically, i removed the back cover and mounted it to the center pocket.

My carputer is powered by M2ATX and my screen is hooked up to the battery directly.

I think what might have caused the problem was that the carputer was sending the signal before the screen had any power to it. I hooked up the fuse on the screen while the carputer was on. If indeed that is the problem which part of the circuit would be at fault and which components or chips would be needed to be replaced?

So, today i opened up the center pocket and tried to secure any loose wires. The result is still the same and i tried wiggling the wires too, no luck.

If all your connections are good then...I noticed you said you connected the screen right to your batter.

The Vm70 only has a Operating Voltage: 11.5-14.5V DC (600 mA). Had you cranked over your car after installing the monitor?

I would just be worried that your battery got out of the VM70 operating range.

Did you ever get it working? How is it's brightness / daylight-readability compared to a Lilliput/Xenarc/LinITX?

Yes, the issue has been resolved long ago.

I cannot give you a comparison between Lilliput/Xenarc/LinITX's because i've never used those before.

However, this monitor has served it's purpose for well over 3 months now. I would highly recommend it.
