Smile USB/VGA extension cables?

I have The VM80 " TFT LCD Touchscreen monitor. I also have a 18 foot Buick station wagon. I will be mounting my carpc with my amps in the rear. will my touchscreen still work with a 15 ft USB extension cable? and will the signal from a VGA 15 ft extension affect the screen quality.? and if i have a wireless keyboard will the range be to far?

The VGA should be fine, I've seen them work at 50 feet.

I would look into a USB cable that had an amplifier built-in (they're not hard to find, we use them at work for keyboards/mouse to the servers).

The keyboard ???

USB will not work at that length. You will want a powered USB hub somewhere in there.

VGA may work but it depends on your components. There may be sync and also just pure noise issues at that length. You will want to research this by searching as it has been covered in other threads.

Wireless keyboard is easy to test out. Just depends on position and obstructions.

15ft is only ~3m, both usb and vga should work. My usb and vga extensions are 5m long with the usb and vga connectors manually soldered onto bulk ethernet cables (unsheilded too) from home depot and it works just fine. However, I notice that at 7m+ lengths, my usb connection from the touchscreen would constantly drop out and reconnect.

the max length for certified usb 2.0 speed is 16' so a 15' cable is fine. i am using several of them with no problem. im also using a 15' vga cable with no problems, you just have to make sure u dont run in next to your power wire (this is VERY important, or you WILL get noise)

in fact ive got a couple extra 15' USB cables so PM me if ur interested.
