Did it have a dedicated cable for the auto switch?

Sorry to get off topic but I didn't feel the need to post a new thread when this seems to be the dedicated 2008 Lilliput thread.
MP3Car has the 2008 629's contrast ratio at 500:1 whereas Lilliput's website only states it's only 250:1. I thought Lilliput just didn't update their page but they have it also listed as a CCFL backlit so what's the real contrast ratio?

the real ratio is 500:1. Lilliput has simply not updated there documentation. This has been confirmed by mp3car store members.

Just out of curiosity, has the 10" lilli models gotten an update for 2008, more specifically the auto-poweron? In the end with my truck I'm not going to probably have any physical buttons present....

They dont, I had to hack mine to have the feature. i have three EBY701s' and all are 2008 models. It is missing the 3rd setup screen with the autoswitch feature that most of the 2008, 7 inch screens have. i dont know why they left out the feature on that one 2008 screen.

Spend some time playing with my LCD today, and of course -- it's different then everyone else's! I bought one of the first 2008 Lilliput 629GL Transflective screens that the mp3car store had.
To get into the service menu, make sure that your on any active input and enter "588998" on the remote (nothing different). You can use the remote to navigate and change menu options as well (some people said before they had to use the buttons). However, I have a total of four service menus....
Menu 1 (appears right after entering code)
Menu 2 (press menu button while viewing menu 1)
Menu 3 (press menu button while viewing menu 2)
Menu 4 (press menu button while viewing menu 3)
All of the above show the default options.

Continuing from my post above .... Some interesting things ....- No Auto Switch or Auto Swtich options on mine
- I beleive I have solved the mystery of what BRCK CAR means. Mine is BACK CAR, and fits in line with the options on Lilliput monitors for backup cameras. The X and Y below it most likely correspond to X and Y axis flipping of the image. However, don't get too excited as I've yet to get it to do anything. I've put in a composite source (DVD player) into video 1 and video 2, and no matter how I set those options nothing different happens.
- There's an option for Auto Bright on Menu 3. I'm assuming this would be for auto dimming of the screen, but again I couldn't get it to do anything. I was plugged into the wall, so not sure if that would have made a difference ... but I also didn't know what to do to possible trigger the "dim" function. OR perhaps this is more of an auto-adjustment based on ambient light or something?
- My source options include DVI... Although it's kinda messed up on menu 2. The DVI is the option below "PC", but the text is misaligned to the bottom of the screen. I confirmed this by changed the second line to "ON" and when cycling inputs it showed "DVI" as a label. There is no DVI connector anywhere, though

- PC Sound enables the "audio in" jack to output sound through the speaker on ALL sources.... not just "PC" like others. For example, audio plays in "PC", "Video 1", and "Video 2"
- Not sure what IR does... It's default to off, but the remote works fine. What other IR could it be?
- Menu 4 refers to Logo or something. I played with all of these settings, and nothing changed. Anyone seen this before or have any luck with changing options?

What is the Back Car option? from what I understand those screens wait for a signal through the AV line and switches to the one with the signal. When the device with the signal turns off it changes back to the original screen it was on. My EBY701 has a BCK CAR option but I still havent figured out what it does....

See my second post for what I beleive the "Back Car" option is. However, I have tried to get it to auto-switch to video input, using both video 1 and video2, and no luck.
Basically, the way I tested was by using my dvd player in the house. I did not connect the dvd player to the LCD monitor in any way. Then, turn on the LCD and set it to PC input with the desktop showing. Then plug in the composite from the DVD player into Video 1 -- no change. Unplug and plug into Video 2 - no change. Tried this over and over with different options in the service menu, and no luck.
Oh well. Guess I could have left the DVD player OFF and connected to the LCD -- then turn the DVD player on/off instead of the way I did it before to see if I had any luck. Don't think it would make a difference, and would have to try later 'cause I don't feel like hooking everything up for testing again right now <g>

I don't think composite video sends any device triggering signals like Scart and HDMI can.
The monitor must either need an external trigger, or sense the video signal.
So are the new mp3car TF lilli's these with the new LED back lights?
Is that how they have resolved the touchscreen issues by reducing backlight heat output?

There's no trigger wire or similar for these monitors, yet some have reported to be able to autoswitch. So, it must look for an increase in voltage for the composite video connector ... which is common to do in home automation, but not always reliable.

Havn't used any of the older ccfl screens, but I can say that after being on for about 30minutes there is zero heat anywhere on the screen or in its direct vicinity. LED's give off so little heat, so I'm sure it was part of their strategy

Not all of the 2008 screens came with LED. The EBY701 all still use CCFL.
