Hi all.

I have a couple of questions:

I have read the entire posts (for screen power) and a couple of others I understand there are numerious ways of connecting the screen to power.

1. I assume it is best using the OPUS power supply (the only drawback is that the regulator / opus is required to be turned on / running)?

Option 1:
I have the following power regulator:

and I have the Lilliput 629GL-70NP:

Attached a picture of the power regulator:



The output side has a couple of extra cables which are not currently used:

• Blue
• Green
• Brown
• Red
• White
• Black

I assume the black and red with monitor connector as above in image needs to be extended to the front for my lilliput power?

I have not yet connected the system to the battery so I cannot yet test the output voltage from the cables with a multimeter.

Option 2:
I also want to know if it would not be better to connect the screen power to the cigarette adapter line (which is also +12V unregulated, but then using the filter box and line adapter that came with the monitor). This will and should kill all power to the screen when I turn my key to off and should power up again when I turn my key to ACC state correct?

2. Which option is better (I would say option 1)?

3. Do I need to supply the power line with a fuse 2A (I have read 2A should be enough), or is this not necessary as the regulator already has a built in fuse (I am not sure yet, not yet opened the regulator)?

4. Do I need a fan to keep the LCD cool?

5. As indicated above the regulator has got a amp / circuit protection is this still necessary for me to put in a 15A fuse on the power line of the regulator (as I have been shown with a diagram previously):

Assume nothing. I use the P1900 with a Lilli 619 and it works just fine. I couldn't tell you what wires I connected it to off the top of my head, but I can tell you that I followed the information in the P1900 manual (you can get it from the CarNetix site if you don't have it for some reason) and had no issues.

As well as connecting the wires, you also need to make sure that the secondary output (the primary is for your computer) is set correctly (can be set to 12v or 5v IIRC).


That depends on the line in question. Some are always powered regardless of the key state. But if you are using the P1900 for your computer, use the secondary output for the monitor. Makes everything simple.


The fuse for the P1900 should be 15A IIRC, and that should be run directly from your battery. I do not have a fuse between my 619 and the P1900, but if you wire it to an accessory line you probably should. If you do that though, make sure that the circuit you are taping into supports more than the LCD should draw otherwise the fuse won't matter.


Mine is in an aluminum bezel which gets too hot to want to touch (you can, it's just hot), but nothing that seems to cause the LCD issues.


If by the "regulator" you mean the P1900, then unless you want to risk a car fire in the event of a short you absolutely need to have that fuse.
