Lilliput Touch issues! help please. Disappointing!

I have this touch display right here: http://cgi.ebay.com/Lilliput-7-EBY70...QQcmdZViewItem

I'm having a bad issue with the touch screen. Often, the touch panel looses calibration almost 5 minutes after a good "Clear and calibrate". . . If i remove the cover off the back of the display and unplug and plug the digitizer touch panel back in... The calibration is just fine again.

No matter what I do to try and make the contacts on the digitizer plug contact great with the terminals on the circuit board... it looses calibration so fast. This IS a hardware problem for sure. I'm just curious of what I should do to make the connection better from the digitizer to the circuit board. The cable and contacts are in perfect looking condition. This is just an extreme annoyance, especially on long drives.

I've got the EBY701 myself, and haven't had any problems. I did have some issues with my previous screen that ended up being a bad controller - never bothered to fix it.

However, in the process I got some good troubleshooting steps - first, are you using the latest drivers? I used the following:

http://210.64.17.162/web20/eg/drivers.htm

The best step I (if it's a hardware problem) thought was to test with the case completely open and nothing touching the touchpanel (remove the front fascia so it can't press on the edges of the panel). See if it still loses calibration. If it does, you can try a new panel, or a new controller, or both. I think someone in the classifieds was selling controllers - he might still have some.

Otherwise, you can try to RMA the thing because it does sound like a hardware problem.

Good luck!

thank you, yeah I'm running the latest drivers. I'm pretty sure the thing is out of warranty after all the screw holes and everything i've put in that thing lol... But I could try hitting up the classifieds for a new controller/panel...

It's just driving me insane. Almost tempted to just buy a new Lilliput lcd.

That's always an option. Then you'll have the spare for parts and/or to part out to help with the cost of the new one. I'd be interested in the casing for the thing if you do go that route, if you're willing to part with it.
