I was wondering if the screen rotates. I want to mount the unit in my dash vertically, then after ejecting the screen rotating it 90 degrees. Do these units allow this? Thanks.
that's not so much a feature of the screen as much as it's a feature of software... there are softwares that will allow you to pivot to portrait mode though.
one thing to keep in mind & to check before dedicating your whole build to this setup is, many screens do not have very good viewing angles from up & down, there mainly focused on wider viewing angles of left & right. when your in portrait mode, up & down becomes left & right... try the screen in this configuration first & see if the viewing angles are usable in this configuration for you... if so, then software should be able to do what your looking for, but if the image looks all inverted due to bad viewing angle in that configuration then you'd have to second guess that plan...

so what you are saying is that you can piviot the picture with software, but you cant physically pivot the screen. I wanted a solution that I could pivot the entire screen.
well the screen is fixed in it's slider bracket, so no it don't pivot at all in the stock configuration. I assumed you were going to modify it to do what you want. doing this with a retractable screen is not going to be easy & may not be practical at all really. I don't know of anything commercially available that does this in stock form.
