Monitor not recognized when auto powering on.

The title says it. If I turn it off and wait a couple seconds and turon on the LCD, I get the display as expected. It appears that the motherboard doesn't detect the monitor during post and then does not display anything. Any way to delay the power on of the monitor or some other fix anyone can think of?

Edit: Silly me, it's the 9 inch 4:3 Lilliput monitor.
