Char LCD in Win 2000

Hey who's seen one of these threads lately??? Any of the new members know what a char LCD is...lol Anyway I am trying to get one my LCD (one of Arby's) to work on my home system which has Win2000 I am tring Markus Zehnder's plugin for winamp and its a no go. The screen is on I have backlight illumination, I have tried turning the Contrast and Brightness POTs and nothing. I know WIN2k has a special deal with not allowing direct access to the ports but i downloaded the driver that is supposed to fix that from the same site i got the plugin and nothing works!

So I tried a few others and still nothing but errors and or nothing on screen.

Any ideas ???

Have a look at Smartie and/or Jalcds . Yes you need the special driver for W2K and it works for me.
