just remember when you install it, dont forget the screw holes in the side.. you have about 1/2 a mm clearence inside the case (if that) before the screws touch and grip the side of the screen.. put the screws so they only just screw in to the case and no deeper, i think i used 3 or 4 washers each screw.

I just got the screen in psot 15 delivered. I want to try this out on my home PC to set it all up before plugging it into the car.

How do I connect it.

There are four wires...

Yellow - 12V
Black - Ground
Green - Ground
Red - Ignition

In my PC I have a 4 wire Molex connection that supplies the 12V and ground, this isnt enough to power on the monitor. looks like the red ignition is needed to complete the circuit....what do I need to do?

I read this but it didnt specify exactly how it was done.

thx

bear in mind that i have nothing else to compare it with other than my 19" HP TFT.

I have for now hooked this up to the 12V power supply in my desktop PC, so not in my car yet.

There seems to be some interference thats spoiling the VGA display. The image isnt all that sharp....perhaps due to the 800 x 480 resolution and I cant seem to reduce the brightness enough to get the screen to display black blacks....

having said that, the touchscreen is fantastic....dont think i need my griffin powermate...as this is really that good.

the display seems good enough for FreeICE and Roadrunner. Motorised function works great.

looking forward to getting this fitted to the car to see what it looks like in there.

here is my interior shot

Mind if i ask what year audi a3 that is?

I can't seem to place that interior................just curious............

Ooopps, nevermind. Got you mixed up with the OP and missed supra in the writeup.

Duh.

Cheers

im running mine at 800x600 due to the intel boards dont do 800x480 easily.

and at 800x600 text is easy to read, and pretty sharp.

you will need to re do the touch screen settings if you change the res tho.
