Connect Ipod Controls to Car touch screen?

So everyone loves the new Ipod touch.

So here's a question I just got a new Mazda 6 and am planning on putting in a new touch screen into int with A/V and VGA inputs on it.

Now I looked at a lot of different things to get to control my music, videos, and GPS all at the same time.

Right now I don't want to put a carPC. Since I alrady have an iPod that's kind of it's own "PC" does anyone make an adapter or something where I could hook my Ipod into the new touch screen and control my iPod from the touch screen on the dash instead of the using the iPod itself with A/V cables connected into the screen?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Secondly for those that have a touch screen with a car PC do you just need to plug in the VGA into the screen for it to work? I wouldn't see how this would work or is there like a usb or mouse input that you also need to connect to the screen?

I've never read any complaints about MP3Car products, either on the MP3Car site, or anywhere else. The products I've bought at MP3Car have been exactly as advertised, and excellent quality.

I can speak for the Lilliput 10.4 I have: the touchscreen interface is a USB connection, in addition to the standard VGA video connection. I know that some other (probably earlier) screens used a 9-pin serial port. None that I've seen are VGA-only.
