HELP My Lillput displays poorly

Hello,

Here is my problem, I have a 2006 Scion TC and I have my display in the dash and it fits perfect and works awesome for me, However my wife on the other hand sits in the passenger seat and the display looks very dark and not clear.

I played around with the settings on the monitor it's self and didn't look that much better. Has this ever happen to anyone other then me? If so can you help me find out what is the cause of this?

Here is how I have it setup.

Positive wire connected to cigg lighter (this turns on and off with ignition)
Negitive wire connected to same wire that was the ground from the factory stereo.
ON/OFF Switch. all i did here was attached two wires on either side of the switch from the monitor and extend those wires with a new switch to the dashboard. (So I can turn the monitor on or off when I choose to)

Here is what the monitor looks like any kind of help or suggestions would be very cool. Thank you very much

This is normal, and is what is called "Viewing Angle". Generally, car LCD monitors have between a 120 and 140 degree viewing angle from left to right. Newer, larger in-home LCD's have been getting much higher, but even the newest lilliputs are only 140 degrees.

What this means is that when you look dead-on in front of the LCD screen, the display is perfect. But as you rotate/move to the left (or right, in the case of a passenger), the display gets darker and "fainter" the farther you go. When you go about 20 to 30 degrees from "dead-on center", the image will appear darker. When you go past about 60 to 70 degrees from "dead-on center", the image is generally unwatchable.

More then likely, your lcd is titled towards the driver seat. This means that the "dead-on center" spot is not in the center of the car, but rather slightly towards you. Your passenger is most likely very close to the limit of the viewing angle, and therefor the image isn't that great. There is no tweaks, or changes to wiring, that you can do to improve this -- you can either adjust the lcd so that the "dead-on center" spot is the center of the car, or have passengers lean closer to you to see it better.

Probably not the answer your looking for, though =)
