Any updates on the 702 h3rk? Has it melted your dash yet? I'm about to purchase my monitor and I'm torn between the 702 and the LinITX transflective. Trying to dig out as many first hand accounts of their performance as I can!

I have had it running a lot lately, what I did was put a small (60mm) fan behind it. I can keep it down around 90-95 F. I like it. The case it comes in (2 part with detatchable front place bids well for dash fabrication too. I just recently got it installed (about 1 week) and haven't been having any problems so far.

Just the news I was looking for! I'm doing a complete in dash setup and was already planning to have a fan removing warm air from the dash which will work out perfectly. Just placed my order! As long as I don't have any show stopping tragedies I should have my install complete by next weekend.

It's not transflective as far as I know. It's just bright. It's pretty much a normal 700TSV with the only difference being that it has brighter ccfl's to get it to 1000nit.
I have a transflective modified lilliput 8" (MCT), and I like the sunlight visibility of this one better.

Do you still get glare from the the MCT screen? Are they fully transflective like the mp3car's ones?

some glare, probably mostly from the resistive touchscreen film. But it's supposedly an anti glare touchscreen overlay, so it was ...dulled out(?) a little.

So they are not actually replacing the touchscreen with an AR one?

Is it possible to mount it in a double-din slot? This 702 is much bigger than the 700. Is it just the plastic frame or the board/lcd has grown as well?
Any internal pics would be appreciated.

All I have is a 702 so I can't compare it to a 700 unfortunately. I will be disassembling my 702 and getting it mounted here within a week or so, hopefully this weekend but it may be next Monday or Tuesday. I'll post up a few pics and some dimensions when I'm finished.
And for anyone who is curious this thing is ridiculously bright. Looks pretty good in sunlight. When I'm using it indoors tinkering on my work bench I can barely stand to look at it when it's on full brightness.

We have this product as well. Don't feel bad that it isn't on Xenarc's website.

I made a comparison movie about a month ago but haven't posted it yet because it needed some editing. I will try to get it up later today.
The monitor is cool but nowhere near as cool as a transflective.
The detachable faceplate is also a pretty nifty feature.
I also have some comparison photos here:

So has anyone figured out how to mount this thing in a double din? I'm thinking some major fabrication is in order to get it to fit. I'm basing my build on the BLK02SI thread, and I have one of those chassis, but man I cannot figure out how to fit this thing in.

Excellent. Thanks for the measurements! That will be a big help. I think my main thing is, after a year of research and a sizeable investment, I'm just scared of sawing apart my screen.
My main issue is the ribbon cable reconnect after it is taken apart. It is a wierd conenctor, and I cannot figure out how to lock the cable down.
any ideas?
