double din or flip out

This has probably been asked before, but i was having a hard time finding it by searching.

I was wondering what people recommended in respect to having either a double din screen or a single din flip out.

the double din would be a modded lilliput and the flip out would be a xenarc.
the double din is cheaper by like $300, but it's also more visable and therefor likely to get stolen. and it also can't be adjusted for glare.

What do you guys think?

edit: perhaps i should get the cheaper one, and put the money i save towards a security system for my car. (^_^)

Single DIN flip out has moving parts subject to failure. It also sticks out more from the dash usually and looks more like something to steal. Fixed screen in the dash looks more like factory and thus not to desirable to steal. That is what most folks on here prefer.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna take some measurements soon to see what will fit where. I think i'm gonna use my old crappy laptop as the computer part, it won't look as good but it will work. most of the extra features i wanna add will be usb anyway, like radio, gps, and bluetooth.

It's gonna be about $500 for the screen + mounting. and then the extra usb stuff. Do you guys think street deck is worth buying? I tried it and road runner and i liked street deck a LOT more but it's another $200.
