UPDATE ON: TM-701L and Touch Screen Kit

Hey guys!

I've been very busy lately and had absolutely no time to post, sorry. I have good news on a few subjects.

TM-701L - We have found a new source for these monitors (exactly the same monitor) and new monitors have been ordered! They should be available in 7-10 days. Because I am going through a different source on these monitors I am paying more money for them. For all mp3car.com members the price will be $240 shipped; price on the website will be $250 shipped. For the record I am paying about $20 extra on these monitors so I am not making any extra money on you guys.

Touch Screen Panel & USB Controller - I received the samples and tested them, everything works great and this looks like a great product. What I got:

5.8" Touch Panel + USB Controller + Drivers/Cables
7.5" Touch Panel + USB Controller + Drivers/Cables

Here is a page I set up with more info and pictures: Click Here!

Also I talked to the manufacturer of the Kit and they have agreed to make a custom 7” Touch Panel for the TM-701L Monitor. I will send them one of the monitors and they will make a perfect Touch Panel for it.

The cost of the whole kit will be $105 Shipped! Unless there will be any additional cost involved with making the custom panel (shouldn’t be).

I was thinking about ordering 5.6” and 7” panels (most popular sizes), what do you guys think? Let me know who would be interested in these kits and what size. Also if you have any comments or questions.

Armen

I discovered your 7" in-dash LCD on the day it went out of stock this last time and have been axious to get one since then. I also REALLY want a touchscreen that will work with it. Any ETA on that screen or discount if both the LCD and touchscreen are purchased together?

Armen,
You are the man and your screens rock! Put me on the list for the 7" touch pannel when it comes available.

How much brightness does the touch take away?

You think that 5.8 touch pannel would fit into my PsOne LCD?

The screens should be in stock soon - I will post here as soon as they are available. Touch screen kit should be here before Christmas.

Thank you , thank you

The touch panel is 1.1 mm thick and it is Glass. I haven't tested the panel on the in dash but I did put it over my computers LCD and it doesn't take too much away, just a little.

I think that I will be able to order few different sizes. If you know that you want one for sure then I will order one for your size. Let me know.

armen,

If I got you the cash (paypal whatever) now, could you ship me one (LCD + Touch kit) as SOON as you get them in?

***EDIT *** Wait a sec. Do the 7.5" touch panels fit inside the enclosure without too much trouble, or at all? I suppose this should be consideration #1. Or alternatley do you still have the same screen just not in the retractable housing?

Wykat,

I am with you. I have wanted an in-dash VGA touch LCD for 4 years now! I would order one in a second if the price was under $700.

Not really sure if it even fits in the housing yet. From the looks of the picture... no.

Maybe Armen can comment on this.

I only ever really get a chance to look at the forums when I've got a break at work.. and since I'm running on mac here I don't have any other choices.. and man.. is your site absolutely horrible on a mac!!

Just thought I'd tip you off on that..

How thick are the overlays? I have a 5.6" screen I might buy a touch over lay for if I can fit it in my enclosure. Well I suppose the over all height and width would help too.. Thanks!
