Help with extending internal xenarc 705tsv cables

Well, trying to custom fit my xenarc in my G35 with a custom built housing, I ran into a little problem. The 705tsv internal ribbon cables are too short (40 pin and 4 pin) Its the white and brown cables. They use to be around 6" inches but now they are only about 1". I don't know exactly what to search for but I was maybe thinking there were some ways to get extensions from digikey or mouser? Seeing if someone else has done this already, I couldn't find anything under search.
Just a quick update, if there are actually extensions, that would work better. I am afraid to take both cables out of the actual LCD part. I have no idea what to search on besides Flat Flexible Cable.

Here is a 15" that works for 700TSV:

Maybe someone else can verify that the new 705 uses the same. I used the longer cable to turn the board upside down so the button panel would be out of the way. I also had to extend another wired cable that I just soldered in additional length. The touchscreen ribbon was already long enough for my mod to work.

Ah, yes this is it!! I can't believe I couldn't find it in this store. Do you know where I can find one for the 4 pin ribbon now? I have the same problem with it being too short

this 4 pin ribbon is proving to be a big hastle. I even called xenarc and they didn't have much information for me. Has anyone gotten an extension for this 4 pin FFC in the 705tsv?

If it has the same pitch as the 40 pin one, why don't you get a second ffc and cut 4 wires out of it, with a cutter knife? The pin count doesn’t even mater, just the pitch (the distance between traces).

the 4 pin does not have the same pitch but I just figured out that I can keep the touchscreen controller up with the LCD and just extend the plug from that board that goes to the main board instead. So I only had to get the 15inch LCD ribbon from this site. Thanks for the help.

Lightbulb IR sensor

Don't forget to bring your IR reciever part up to some accessible place if you want to be able to use the remote to tweak settings. This is especially important if your buttons are not going to be available anymore. The IR sensor is a small phototransistor with a reasonably long wire. It is easy to relocate. BTW, the MP3car store also has extra monitor cases if you need one. Good luck with your mods.

Yeah, I plan on doing this, but just FYI for anyone out there, the 705TSV IR receiver is actually soldered to the board directly. I will have to cut at the leads and then solder wires on carefully.
