It's killing me that I can't figure this out myself, but I've spent a little over a week on this one, this most recent time. I just don't know.
I have a Lilliput FA841-NP/C/T with a transflective upgrade, and an upgraded Fujitsu USB panel and controller (anti glare). I had sent the original back and appearantly the touch panel was bad. This was a Motor City Technologies job, and I'm excited to actually get to install it. But...
I've never been able to get the touch panel to make the computer do anything. And I would like some help.
I've seen several threads and posts on the subject, some of which include "unknown USB device" and other errors. I dont get any errors, but due to the lack of results I've spent some time digging in to things, I came up with this Pinout (14 pin Centronics cable):

It would be nice if someone could verify this for me.
I've verified all of the pins, most of the pins all of the way to components and their circuits on the PCB (scaler/USB/etc) so I'm fairly confident the pins are correct.
pins 6&14 seem to be USB data, ground was obvious, and it looks like the board makes it's own 5V for the touchscreen controller, and doesn't take it off of the USB Vcc bus.
I don't get any errors when I plug in, and all three versions of touchkit I've tried recognize the touchscreen controller in the software.
I've tried these Touchkits:
Win2000_XP_4.3.7.3321
All_In_One_2k_XP_Vista_5.0.0.5017
HIDUsbTouchDigitizer_2.0.0.0525
I did notice that the About page in All_In_One_2k_XP_Vista_5.0.0.5017, that it says it's for x64, but it installed fine and recognized the controller.
In hardware manager, I found:
I've read that in addition to the "Mice and pointing devices" device, there should also be a new device in "USB Controllers"
is this true?
I've never found anything there, and I've looked every time.
I did try the tablet edition version as metioned above, and it seemed to install ok and recognize the controller:
and in the device manager it's a little different:
but I had no new results with touchscreen response.
I don't know what to do, I tried what one person has recently said about force feeding the driver after installing the touchkit, but that has not worked for me.
I've tried this on my car computer, a core-duo powered MSI Fuzzy 945GM1 (XP-Pro), and also on my HP, AMD Laptop (Pavillion dv6000)(Vista). And I've had same results with the touchscreen.
Any Ideas?
Also, on the Fuzzy945GM, the Lilliput wont display at 800x600, 1024x768 seems the only choice. 75 hz is problematic to make work (but it's needed for flicker).
On the laptop, 800x600 isn't accepted by the monitor, and anything above 1024x768 gives me a OVER-RANGE message on my monitor. (same I guess, but the results were more consistant on the laptop), 75hz is definately acheivable.
Well, this touchscreen was initially kind of expensive, and then when I sent back the display to MCT (after a long time having it sit and thus its more than fair that...) he had to charge me to fix it, so then I sprung for the upgrade. But now... I've sunk so much into it, I just can't stand that I can't figure out how to make it work.
MCT has been awesome, but I've had an email in to him for a few days now and I've had no response yet, must be busy. and I've been working on this for so long, I hope someone out there who has endured this long post, has some good advice for me.
I've also reseated and checked continuity across the FFC connector on a very small PCB (there's a very small pcb that takes a 4wire ribbon(FFC), where the four that plug into the onboard touchscreen controller are soldered on).
And Duayn, at MotorCityTech said he tested it before he shipped it off, so I have to be missing something...
