8.9" 1024x600 screen possible?

Just to toss an idea around.

With the current crops of UMPCs popping up left and right, has anyone managed to get those panel to work with a generic controller for use in car pc?

use the whole tablet, seperate the base from the screen & graft it in, then run it off the motherboard base of the tablet itself, best way to do it really, use a fujitsu p1610 transflective touch...

Is the 1620's screen substantially different than the 1610? The touch screen on the 1620 requires a fingernail to register the touch. I haven't had a good opportunity to test it outside, but the glare of the touch screen seemed pretty heavy at work the other day Bright, but cloudy day. Not direct sun. (I just got it this weekend.)
