ugh.. .screen flicker driving me bonkers! help!

hey peeps... i've got a problem.
I have a ezgo/cappuccino, and for some reason, my tv out signal decides to just flicker out of nowhere... I believe i've traced it down to the connector, but not 100% sure.... I think that it's the connector rather than the motherboard, because w/a multitestor, it looses connection between the outer sleeve of the rca and the connector if i just spin the rca on the connector.

I've tried cleaning the connector, and scraped off a bunch of crap w/a screwdriver, but i still get the problem.. it's a bit more intermittent, but still a problem. I even used tuner control spray, and rubbing alcohol on it after the scraping session.

I've soldered the outer sleeve of the connector to the rest of the connector because it was spinning a bit, so I think my warranty is pretty much screwed.

I've tried a bunch of different cables and whatnot, and still get the exact same problem.

It happens on both my tv at home, and on the display in the car..

the display in the car is a sony xav-7w headunit.

Hi, have you tried resoldering the connector to the mainboard/videocard/whatever-it-is?
Solder joints of connectors tend to wear when the connector is mechanically stressed.

sorta... i soldered a rca wire onto the posts that go to the motherboard, still no luck in the car, but it was trouble free inside the house...

I'm wondering... would the wires going from the control box to the stereo being wire tied too tight possibly cause this?

If there is stress on the wire, it could cause it to get damaged inside the insulator. Try it with a new video cable.

When I was hooking up my carcomputer in my house I ran a grounding wire from the casing on the psu to the sleeve on the composite connector.. this improved the signal tremendously.

well.. i tried a new rca, and that didn't do anything for me....
I also tried plugging it into the av in 2 on the control box for the head unit..
I'm going to try and cut all the wire ties holding the wire that goes from the control box to the head unit, and see if that changes anything... I might need a new one of those.... ugh... i can picture that being expensive.. I wonder if it's under warranty.

Monster Cable = Lifetime Warrenty!!

You just walk in with the cable and tell them it doesn't work, and they should hand you a new one without complaint

hmm... well.. i think i figured it out (maybe)(signal hasn't jumped yet, but i only drove like 5 miles)
I cut all the wire ties that were holding the cable from the control box to the head unit.. i guess it was getting pinched by the wire ties being to tight maybe.....
I guess I'll have to wait and see

maybe it was getting interference from the cables they were tied too?

actually, they were tied to the cover for the mechanical flow/recirculate switcher deallybob cable... so i doubt there was any interference w/that, since it's mechanical. but... yeah... i may still have the problem, but just didn't see it in that 5 miles...
I think video signals are much less forgiving than audio.
