Head Unit wiring to Lilliput?

Hi, I've been searching around and so far all I've found is instances of people using the power from either their Cigarette lighters or from the comp psu. Can't you just use the power wiring for the head unit as long as you keep the "egg" on, or am I missing something? I'm planning on taking my head unit out completely so I'll have the wires free.

It should be fine. A typical head unit requires between 10 and 15 amps, a monitor isn't too far off from that, meaning the wiring should be appropriate for the current draw.

10 to 15 amps? I didn't think the Lilliput pulled more than an amp?

12V x Amperage = 9 watts

9 watts / 12 volts = .75 A.

So yes, it should be fine.

A car audio head unit pulls more than a monitor. What I was getting at is the fact that because a car audio head unit pulls more than a monitor, the wiring should be more than adequate for a monitor.
