Getting ahead of yourself. The M doesn't have the connector, just the spot for it. I thought the same thing. All that there is on the board is a blank spot with a bunch of lines running to it.

i download the manual of epia m.
######################
LVDS Module Connector: LVDS (Optional)
This connector allows you to connect to a LVDS module.
######################

so there is a module has to be fitted before connecting to lcd

When it says it is optional, that means its optional for the manufacurer to include it on the board. I dont know if any do come with it or not, but it is possible that none are yet produced that come with the header on the board.

Yep, it's here!!

VIA are developing the LVDS module to enable direct connection to LCDs, which seems to me the easist way to get over this whole VGA connection issue... ie. what's the point of converting a display signal to analogue then back to digital again to work with an LCD?

VIA are talking weeks, not months for the release of mobos with LVDS, but none of the current mobos have this facility, although it is in the manual.

I'm in touch with VIA and am following this development closely, so will keep you's all abreast!!

In the meantime, what do you feel about the general question of VGA over LVDS raised in my thread...???
