replacement panel for DIY Eee PC

Short sitrep: I have an Eee that I modded with a touch panel and everything was peachy. When I tried to remove a bulge from the monitor bezel, during my tinkering I broke the plastic cable connected to a Xenarc panel.

My question is simple: Since I bought my controller and panel from Xenarc do I have to replace the panel with a Xenarc or can I go with a Lilliput? Are all 7" touch panels approximately the same size? The panel would likely be hard wired into the computer. After this experience I cannot say I'm impressed with the width of Xenarc's cable. Lilliput looks to have a much narrower and less likely to break cable. I'm of course working in a very small area.
