Monitor size

I'm trying to find the best ts monitor for my bezel size. Its a standard 2 din opening. I plan on pulling the screen out of its case, to get an nice factory look. I did some searching for monitor sizes but I could not find any dimensions of the screen itself w/out the case. If possible I would like to get something a little over sized and then I can trim the bezel, rather than fill in the gaps. If someone with experience could give me a monitor size recommendation I would appreciate it.

you're going to have to use the monitor case unless you plan on doing a bunch more work. it holds not only the screen but the controller boards as well, doesn't really make much sense to not use it.

that said, if you are having trouble finding dimensions on screens you should look harder, everything in the mp3car store has dimensions. this would fit well if you don't plan on keeping that thing under the radio.

the monitor will come out of the bezel no problem, you just have to be carefull and remount the pc boards behind it, the length of the cables attaching it will determine how far away you can mount it.
generally the best looking fit will be from modifying a double din dash kit, or completely building one from scratch. dash kits are the way i start, it allows you to hack up a $20 part instead of your screen or factory deck.

you can also search for screen dimensions, almost every lilliput or xenarc has been ripped down to bare bones and examined on this site. you're probably not going to be hacking up the bezel around the factory radio, so those dimensions you have above are it. i managed to install a bigger screen (lillliput 889) by taking it apart

After 2 hours of searching I think I may settle for this. I would still have to use the case but it should fit perfectly without having to hack up my bezel.
