CraziFuzzy is an unknown quantity at this point
My project may be dead before it (re-)starts...

So I've had a system up and running in my crown vic for a couple years now. simple setup, using an old laptop, streetdeck, and a crappy DWW-720 screen in the dash (had to cut the back from the radio bezel to get the screen to fit, but looked good). Well, I have decided to move the system to my wife's Expedition, but didn't want to chop the bezel, so I was going to gut the DWW and mold it in the factory opening... all well and good. The dimensions showed it would fit.. barely..

Now the problem, When removing the case (not the first time I've done it either), the touchscreen cracked. Not sure if it was already damaged, as it had been calibrating weird (not linear), but it really didn't get tweaked when removing it. Anyway, regardless, it's cracked, and I'm not sure i want to spend the money on a replacement touchscreen for what is already a pretty crappy monitor. I also don't have the money to spend on this for a new monitor.. so it seems I'm out of luck, and have NO carputer anymore. I would love to get a 6.5" screen instead of the 7, as it would fit MUCH better in the factory ford opening.. but I have not seen them available in anything but a fully assembled double-din enclosure, which won't fit in my ford.

Not sure I have a question.. more of a rant. But if anyone has any ideas on what could save my project, I'm all ears...

Punky is on a distinguished road
if you're on a tight budget, look at mp3car's scratched ts overlay, they go for about 15 - 20.
I got two, one has an ugly scratch across, and the other some minor not really noticeable scratches.
Hope it helps you save your project.
