Lilliput is broken, advice on what to do next?

Hey guys I kind of put my car pc project on hold while I went to college and during that year my lilliput broke (I had it with me and used it occasionally). For some reason it just stopped working. The power light and the buttons all light up, but nothing comes on the screen it's just black. The usb touchscreen is still detected by my computer, but no matter what kind of feed I give it, it just doesn't work.

I contacted lilliput and they said it would cost me 10 pounds to ship it back, plus 25 pounds just to diagnose the problem and then more to repair it. Considering that on eBay my model is going for a max of 150, it doesn't seem worth it to try to get it repaired by the manufacturer. What do you guys think I should do, purchase another one, send it to the manufacturer to repair, or try to repair it myself?

Try changing your refresh rate and/or screen resolution.

Is it black all the time no matter what, or does it display "no video source" or whatever on the screen?

Unfortunately nothing comes on the screen at all. I have it plugged into a wall outlet and have tried multiple vga sources, plus a straight composite source and messed with settings. It seems like maybe the backlight is out or something.
