Is there a way to convert this laptop LCD to a regular VGA input?

Took this off an old laptop, screen still works great. Is there an adapter cable or something that will go onto here so I can plug VGA into it? All I want to do is hang it on my wall at home and hook it to my computer so it acts like a slideshow picture frame.

no...LCD's are useless without the circuit board "controller", which on laptops are built into the mobo....

There are controllers that you can buy, but compatibility issues and price make it not worth it...

sorry...

good luck

not exactly sure...I just know that you need the controller...

and usually they are like integrated into the mobo, meaning that you would prob need to basically have the laptop run as usual, rendering your idea useless...not trying to discourage anything though...I mean like really...I don't know...you can try researching it, but i doubt that you will find anything....( I tried to get this to work once, because I know how you feel...How can something that looks so valuable be so useless...)

Your best bet would be to sell the screen on ebay to someone with the same laptop, so that they can fix their screen...

Nope. Well not cheaply or easily anyway. So something that would do it before, for £3K!

Best thing to do would be use the whole laptop, or as ph7ryan said is eBay it. Then buy a flat pannel.

Get an LCD controller, like I did... They accept panels like this.

http://cgi.ebay.com/LCD-TV-kit-for-l...2em118Q2el1247
or
http://cgi.ebay.com/TFT-LCD-Monitor-...QQcmdZViewItem

I own one of the 1st one, and it works fantastic, VGA input for a 1600x1200 panel, and the AV/SVID inputs works well too!!
